Out of the 24 teams that started the competitions in October, five representatives from the Canary Islands remain in contention for the national championships. The Play-Off matches will take place between Saturday, April 11, and Sunday, April 19, 2026, in a best-of-three format, with home-court advantage for the teams that finished higher in the regular season.
In the women's Liga Iberdrola, Emalsa Gran Canaria, which has secured three titles in the last five years, will seek another final appearance. To do so, they must overcome Fundación Cajasol de Sevilla, the recent winner of the Copa de La Reina. The other finalist spot will be decided in a Canarian derby, where Heidelberg Volkswagen will face Haris Tenerife. The latter made a notable comeback in the competition, eliminating favorite Avarca Menorca in the quarter-finals, a significant achievement as the eighth-ranked team to defeat the first.
Both women's clubs have experienced coaching changes. At Heidelberg, David Gil took over from Santi Guerra, while in the Tenerife team, Argentine Guillermo Orduna was replaced by Portuguese Ricardo Lemos at the beginning of 2026.
In the men's competition, the Superliga, the quarter-finals will kick off with a clash of champions: CV Guaguas, winners of four of the last five editions, will face Unicaja Costa de Almería, champions in the 2021-2022 season. This match will be played next Saturday at the Pabellón Moisés Ruiz. Sergio Miguel Camarero's team enters this match with a positive record of 32 wins and 9 losses in 41 games.
The winner of this tie will face the victor of the match between Cisneros Alter Tenerife and Manacor. Although the Balearic team performed better in the regular season and won the Copa del Rey in Valencia last Sunday, March 1, the outcome of the match remains uncertain. The other two quarter-final matches will be between Grupo Herce Soria and Pamesa Teruel, and CV Melilla against Conqueridor Valencia.
