The Gran Canaria Me Gusta Fair has opened registration for its children's cooking workshops, featuring a young finalist from a popular television program who will share her passion for gastronomy with the little ones.

The 13th edition of the Gran Canaria Me Gusta Fair, scheduled from May 8th to 10th at the Agüimes Exhibition Center, will include a series of cooking workshops for children aged 6 to 12. These workshops will be led by a young chef, a finalist from the 11th edition of MasterChef Junior, accompanied by chef Alejandro de la Nuez.
During the sessions, participants will have the opportunity to prepare various dishes, with a special focus on using local products. Recipes include rice paper rolls with vegetables, mango, and semi-cured cheese from Gran Canaria, dressed with soy, orange, and sweet mustard, as well as a zucchini, carrot, and avocado tartare with fig dressing and a cloud of cured cheese from Gran Canaria.
One of the featured activities will be an interactive island mural, where children can select local ingredients for their recipes, fostering knowledge and appreciation for local produce. Additionally, a blind fruit tasting will be held to complement the educational experience.
The workshops will take place on Saturday, May 9th, in four sessions (at 11:00 AM, 12:30 PM, 5:00 PM, and 6:30 PM), and on Sunday, May 10th, in two sessions (at 11:00 AM and 12:30 PM). This initiative, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce of Gran Canaria, is one of the fair's most attractive offerings, combining learning, leisure, and values related to healthy eating.
In addition to the children's activities, the fair will offer, starting May 8th at 9:30 AM, gastronomic exhibitions, tastings, and other activities aimed at bringing local products closer to the public.
