A 25-year-old individual has been arrested at Gran Canaria Airport for carrying over three kilograms of hashish in his luggage, following an operation by the Customs Surveillance Service and the Civil Guard.

The operation took place upon the arrival of a flight from the mainland, during routine checks by the Civil Guard acting as State Fiscal Guard. The passenger's behavior during the baggage control raised the agents' suspicions, leading them to identify and inspect his luggage.
Inside one of the detainee's suitcases, several packages containing a plant-based substance were found, along with other items used for transporting and concealing drugs. Subsequent analysis confirmed it to be hashish.

The individual was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against public health, specifically drug trafficking.

Following the seizure, the detainee was handed over to the on-duty Investigating Court of Telde, which has ordered his imprisonment.
