The 50th edition of the Rally Islas Canarias–Rally de España has transformed Gran Canaria into a central hub for motorsport. Since last Thursday, anticipation has been building, with the official presentation at the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium drawing hundreds of fans, marking the beginning of a week of intense activity.
The preliminary schedule is hectic. This Sunday, April 19, teams will arrive at the Muelle de Las Palmas, followed by the Sunday Test in Cuatro Puertas, their first competitive contact with the Gran Canarian asphalt. On Monday, April 20, testing will continue in Ayagaures and Gáldar, and in the afternoon, the Toyota Gazoo Racing team will hold a meeting at Toyota City, in Miller Bajo.
On Tuesday, April 21, Hyundai Shell Mobis WRT will hold its official presentation at the Hyundai Canarias facilities, also in Miller Bajo. The presence of world-class teams underscores the growing relevance of this event. Wednesday, April 22, will be a key day for the public, with the presentation of the Lancia team on Avenida de Escaleritas and an autograph signing session in Plaza de Santa Ana, before the presentation of Skoda Canarias in Miller Bajo.
The 50th edition arrives with the symbolic value of consolidating a historic event that has evolved over time without losing its essence: roads full of spectators, a passion for motorsports, and a unique connection between drivers and fans.
Beyond the competition, the Rally Islas Canarias generates significant economic and tourist impact for Gran Canaria, benefiting sectors such as hospitality, catering, and commerce by attracting visitors from other islands, mainland Spain, and abroad.
