The 'Sharing Experiences in Women's Care' Workshops, organized by the Primary Care Management of the Gran Canaria Health Area, brought together midwives from Primary Care and the Insular-Materno Infantil University Hospital Complex. The meeting, held this Friday, aimed to foster the exchange of professional knowledge and experiences, as well as to reflect on the current and future challenges of the profession and the improvement of comprehensive women's care.
Three discussion panels were held during the workshops. The first, titled 'A Profession that Teaches and Accompanies,' focused on teaching, the evolution of the specialty, and new strategies for supporting pregnant women, such as hypnobirthing in Primary Care. Experiences in creating women's groups for learning and connection with one's own body were also shared, highlighting health education and community support.
The second panel, 'New Ways of Practicing the Profession,' served to learn about innovative and entrepreneurial initiatives in the field of midwifery, demonstrating the expansion of care models for women.
Finally, the third panel, 'Midwives, Research, and New Scenarios of Birth Care,' delved into the role of midwives in research, the generation and transfer of scientific knowledge, as well as experiences in home birth care.
