The mobile unit will remain in Moya until tomorrow, with afternoon hours today and tomorrow from 4:15 PM to 8:30 PM. Today, donations will also be accepted in the morning until 1:30 PM. The aim is to increase blood reserves in anticipation of the higher healthcare demand expected during the summer months.
The Canary Islands Health Service emphasizes the importance of regular donations to maintain adequate blood and blood product levels in the Archipelago's hospitals, particularly during this time of year.
In addition to the mobile unit in Moya, Gran Canaria has several fixed donation centers. In Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the Hemodonación y Hemoterapia headquarters on Alfonso XIII street is open Monday to Friday from 8:15 AM to 9:00 PM. In Santa Lucía de Tirajana, the fixed point at the annex of the Vecindario Health Center has specific hours from Monday to Friday.
It is also possible to donate without an appointment at several hospital centers on the island. The Hospital Insular receives donors Monday to Friday and Saturdays, the Hospital Materno Infantil from Monday to Friday mornings, and the Gran Canaria Doctor Negrín University Hospital from Monday to Friday. Hospiten Roca San Agustín also offers services on Fridays, by prior appointment.
