The Peinpal Advisory Committee has given the green light for residents to return to two new properties located in the Aridane Valley. One residence is situated on the Maritime Avenue of Puerto Naos, and the other, a two-story building, is in La Bombilla. With these new permits, the total number of homes authorized to return to Puerto Naos reaches 1,182, while La Bombilla now has 65 authorized residences.
Island president Sergio Rodríguez highlighted that recovery in the Aridane Valley and on La Palma is evident nearly five years after the volcanic eruption. He emphasized the importance of the "tireless work of the competent administrations" and "permanent communication and coordination" to adapt to the new reality following the eruption of the Tajogaite volcano.
Rodríguez stated that "over 1,200 homes now have authorization to return," which, along with the reopening of about twenty establishments and the hotel itself, signifies a "return to normality that is essential" for residents, visitors, and business owners who have invested in the area.
Furthermore, he recalled that the bathing area in Puerto Naos was expanded during the summer as part of the gradual reopening of the town. This initiative has been facilitated by the CO2 project, which continuously monitors gas evolution with over a thousand sensors, and by advancements from the Eduardo Torroja Institute.
