The public transport company will launch a special operation starting at 12:00 PM, focusing on improving access to the vicinity of the Gran Canaria Stadium, the venue for a large-scale mass. The frequency of lines 26 (every ten minutes) and 91 (every five minutes) towards Pintor Felo Monzón avenue will be increased. Additionally, a special line will be established from the Auditorio intermodal parking lot, with a frequency of twenty minutes.
Following the event at the Gran Canaria Stadium, Guaguas Municipales will operate several extraordinary services to assist attendees' return. These include a special line to the Teatro, with a stop at La Ballena Shopping Centre; another to Santa Catalina and Puerto, with an initial stop at Mesa y López; and a direct service to the Auditorio.
The papal visit will also necessitate the temporary closure of the Teatro terminal. During this period, lines 1, 10, 11, 12, and 17 will operate from San Telmo, as will lines 8, 80, 82, 91, and X11. Other routes will have provisional termini at Eufemiano Jurado, Carretera de Mata, Ingeniero Bosch y Sintes, or near the Hotel Parque. Line 12 will temporarily alter its route due to potential restrictions on the GC-1.
The company advises residents and visitors to plan their travel in advance and consult official channels for updated information. It warns that the extensive security measures and high concentration of people may cause delays and temporary changes to usual routes and frequencies, particularly on city access and exit roads and in areas near official events.
