The Department of Health has declared the hepatitis A outbreak registered at a Gran Canaria nursery as "under control," confirming the discharge of the two hospitalized children.

The regional health counselor, Esther Monzón, announced on Friday that the situation is managed and that exhaustive epidemiological surveillance of the disease is being conducted. She made these remarks before participating in a patient meeting organized by the Canary Islands Lung Cancer Foundation.
Monzón specified that all close contacts of those infected are being closely monitored. Individuals who had not been vaccinated are currently receiving the vaccine.
The counselor affirmed that all affected children are in good health, conveying a message of reassurance regarding the evolution of the cases identified at the educational center.
