The Polizón avenue in Arinaga transformed for three days into a vibrant open-air showcase with the Brisa Marina Fair. The event, which has seen remarkable growth in its four-year history, consolidated its success by gathering 56 exhibitors and thousands of attendees, reaffirming the appeal of locally sourced products.
What began as an initiative with just around twenty stalls has evolved into a significant event for commercial promotion and economic revitalization in the municipality of Agüimes. The offerings included leatherwork, stone crafts, artisanal jewelry, costume jewelry, candles, books, and a wide variety of gastronomic products, all linked to proximity commerce.
The fair stood out not only for its commercial offerings but also for its family-friendly activity program. Children enjoyed bouncy castles and workshops, while adults were entertained by live music from groups such as Aquarela, Superroket, Aseres, and Agua del Chorro, as well as performances by El Mago Aday and Kilian Viera.
A notable moment was the public weaving demonstration by Rosa Delia Peraza Peña, which introduced traditional artisanal techniques to the audience. During Saturday, the Councilor for Local Development and Tourism, Cati Suárez, and the Mayor of Agüimes, Óscar Hernández, visited the stalls to learn firsthand about the participants' work.
The gastronomic offerings from local establishments complemented the event, enhancing its appeal. The high turnout confirms Brisa Marina's consolidation as a commercial benchmark in southeastern Gran Canaria, successfully combining crafts, local trade, gastronomy, and entertainment.
