The Gran Canaria Accessible Foundation has inaugurated its renovated facilities in Gran Canaria this week, following an investment of 281,657 euros aimed at modernizing workspaces and public service areas.

The renovation project has updated changing rooms, restrooms, the training room, and various common areas of the entity, which is part of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria. These improvements are designed to enhance working conditions for staff and the quality of service provided to the public.
During the opening ceremony, the impact of the specialized transport service managed by the organization was highlighted. With over 16,119 services provided last year, the fleet covered a total of 315,771 kilometers. Since 2024, this service has been free for the 1,300 registered users, matching the free public bus network on the island.
The foundation's management emphasized that this door-to-door service for people with reduced mobility is unique in Spain. Furthermore, the modernization plan includes the acquisition of two new vehicles this year, with the goal of continuing to renew the fleet progressively in the coming years.
The new facilities incorporate a signage system designed according to the UNE 170002 standard. This universal accessibility technology facilitates autonomous and safe navigation for all individuals, reinforcing the institution's commitment to inclusion and the dignity of its users.
