Las Canteras beach in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is set to host the Gran Canaria Longboard Challenge, an event that will mark the beginning of the National Longboard Circuit 2026 and attract prominent specialists.

Between June 12 and 14, the La Cícer wave will be the epicenter of this competition, which will not only count towards the national circuit of the Spanish Surfing Federation but also for the Canarian longboard circuit of the Canarian Surfing Federation. This event positions the capital of Gran Canaria as a key point in the national calendar for this sport.
The championship will feature some of the country's best longboarders, competing for a prize pool of 3,000 euros and 1,000 ranking points. Prizes will be distributed equally between the men's and women's open categories. Additionally, the competition will include categories such as under-18 (men's and women's), masters (for over 40s), and grand masters (for over 50s).
The Gran Canaria Longboard Challenge will take place simultaneously with the Gran Canaria Surf No Limit Fundación DISA 2026, which corresponds to the Spanish Parasurfing Championship. This coincidence promises a weekend dedicated to surfing and the coexistence of various modalities on the waves, enriching the experience for participants and spectators.
This event is integrated into the program of the Gran Canaria Surf Fest, organized by MPG Events, expanding its competitive offering with a growing discipline. The organization emphasizes its commitment to consolidating quality events in such an emblematic setting as Las Canteras.
Beyond the competition, the event is also conceived as a surf festival with complementary activities. Environmental and parasurf workshops, talks on inclusion and adapted sports, a market, gastronomy, and music will be offered, creating a proposal open to the general public. Detailed information on registrations and the full program is available on the official website of the Gran Canaria Surf Fest and its social media channels.
