The event occurred at 5:43 PM, when the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 received the rescue alert.
Given the severity of the situation, the health coordinator of the Canarian Emergency Service (SUC) immediately activated a medical helicopter, in addition to a medical ambulance and a basic life support ambulance. The aircraft landed directly on the beach sand to expedite assistance.
Personnel from the Gran Canaria Emergency Consortium and members of Mogán Civil Protection collaborated in securing the area for the helicopter's landing maneuver.
The swimmer received initial assistance from SUC ambulance personnel before being stabilized by the helicopter's medical team. Once his condition was secured for air transport, he was urgently transferred to the Hospital Universitario Insular de Gran Canaria.
