The competition, scheduled to last for nine days, remains a key event in the international wave circuit. The opening day served as a meeting point for competitors, who gathered for the traditional group photo on the coast of Santa Lucía de Tirajana.
While light wind conditions on the first day delayed the start of official heats, the atmosphere was focused on technical preparations and anticipation for the upcoming challenges. The event features a competitive mix of established international figures and local rising talents.

The event is part of the Professional Windsurfers Association (PWA) and World Wave Tour circuits, with the endorsement of the Spanish Royal Sailing Federation. It is supported by institutions and partners including the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, the Santa Lucía de Tirajana City Council, and Turismo de Islas Canarias.
