UD Las Palmas president Miguel Ángel Ramírez has apologized to fans for IT failures during playoff ticket collection and confirmed Luis García's contract renewal.

The top executive of UD Las Palmas, Miguel Ángel Ramírez Alonso, has offered apologies to season ticket holders for the inconveniences during the playoff semifinal ticket collection. A failure in the IT system, described as a LaLiga pilot program, caused long queues and overwhelmed the club's management capacity. "We made mistakes," Ramírez acknowledged, regretting the situation fans experienced, including the lack of restrooms during the wait.
Ramírez clarified that the IT program did not allow for free entry for the July 7th match, necessitating a symbolic fee. He assured that the club felt "overwhelmed" and that "the program was not up to par," apologizing for "not having done well" in front of the fans, who "do not deserve us to make these mistakes."
In other news, the president confirmed the activation of coach Luis García Fernández's contract renewal, who will continue leading the team next season, regardless of whether they achieve promotion to the top division. "He knows we would love him to stay," stated Ramírez, highlighting the "results" and the "73 points" achieved, a figure he considers direct promotion worthy.
Ramírez also called for calm around the club, anticipating an "absolute sell-out" at the stadium for the playoff match. He emphasized the complexity of the season and the difficulty of the tournament they face, recalling that the team has been "among the top six for almost the entire year." Furthermore, he valued the club's trajectory, which has been "competing for something" for a decade.
Regarding the future stadium, Ramírez expressed pride in the tender for the new Gran Canaria stadium, which will involve an investment of 174 million euros. He described the future facilities as "a super stadium" with "the latest technology" and "fan comfort," although he acknowledged that "there will be inconveniences" during construction.
On the potential departure of captain Viera, the president urged "not to create distractions" and to focus on the promotion objective. He confirmed the high demand for tickets for the match against Málaga CF, assuring that the Gran Canaria stadium will be "a party" and that "battles are won when we are all together."
Finally, Ramírez confirmed the club's active participation in the return of fitness coach Richi Serrés, highlighting his importance in the team's previous promotions. "I decided that Richi should come again," he noted, thanking him for his willingness.
