The Department of Education, Vocational Training, Physical Activity and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands is participating in the second edition of Gran Canaria Experience (GCX), taking place from September 2nd to 6th at the Alisios Shopping Center in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

The event will feature a dedicated space aimed at bringing physical activity and sports closer to audiences of all ages. Throughout the five days of the festival, visitors can learn and practice disciplines such as fencing, Canarian wrestling, chess, taichi, and taekwondo. The offering is complemented by a motor and simulation area, where the public can experience motorsport competition through simracing.
The Department's presence will also serve as a showcase for ExpoDeca 2026, with its next edition scheduled from November 12th to 15th at the Plaza de la Música in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. ExpoDeca brings together federations, clubs, companies, professionals, administrations, and citizens around physical activity and sports.
Promoted by the Government of the Canary Islands and organized by the Cabildo of Gran Canaria through Infecar, ExpoDeca has established itself as a key meeting point for the Canary Islands sports sector. Participation in Gran Canaria Experience aims to extend this philosophy to an event focused on digital culture and new forms of leisure, combining traditional disciplines with simulation proposals to encourage the discovery of new hobbies.
The second edition of Gran Canaria Experience, held from September 2nd to 6th at the Alisios Shopping Center, will offer a free five-day program including video games, board games, esports, digital culture, innovation, and sports. Following over 87,000 visitors in its debut, the event anticipates reaching 175,000 attendees this year.
