Pope Leo XIV landed this Thursday in Gran Canaria after a flight from Barcelona, during which he shared moments with the flight crew in the cockpit.

The flight commander, with nearly three decades of experience, reported that the pontiff showed great interest in the aircraft's operation during the final twenty minutes of the journey. From the cockpit, the holy father was able to observe Lanzarote and Mount Teide under favorable weather conditions.
The lead flight attendant highlighted the pope's humility, noting that he gave gifts to the crew members and maintained a warm demeanor. The flight, which proceeded without incident at 35,000 feet, included a breakfast of French omelet, cherry tomatoes, and yogurt with muesli.
The Airbus A320 aircraft featured special touches for the occasion, such as an image of the Virgin of Candelaria placed in front of the pontiff's seat. Additionally, music from the Escolanía del Escorial was played during boarding and disembarking.
