The countdown to Pope Leo XIV's visit to the Canary Islands has begun, and availability for attending the scheduled events is almost complete. Currently, the only active registrations are for the family mass that the Pontiff will officiate on June 12 at the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
For the rest of the events planned during his stay in Gran Canaria and Tenerife, new attendance requests can no longer be made. However, those who registered previously can download their free tickets through the platform provided by the organization.
The tickets, which are free of charge, are only accessible to those who completed the initial registration. It is essential to use the same DNI (National Identity Document) used for registration to access them. The process involves accessing the download platform, selecting the venue and sector, indicating the number of tickets, validating with the DNI, completing the required information, and finalizing the request. Tickets will be sent in PDF format via email.
The organization reminds attendees to enter their DNI exactly as it was during the initial registration, as it serves as the validation code.
The Pope's itinerary in the Canary Islands will commence in Gran Canaria on Thursday, June 11. After arriving at Gando Air Base, he will proceed to the port of Arguineguín for a meeting with migrant reception initiatives. Subsequently, he will visit the Cathedral of Santa Ana in Vegueta to meet with bishops and pastoral agents. In the afternoon, a Fan Zone will be set up at the Anexo to the Gran Canaria Stadium with various performances. The day will conclude with a mass at the same stadium, accompanied by the Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra and its choir.
On Friday, June 12, Leo XIV will travel to Tenerife. After landing at Los Rodeos airport, he will visit the Las Raíces reception center and hold a meeting with integration groups in the Plaza del Cristo de La Laguna. At 12:15 PM, he will celebrate the mass with families at the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the only event with open registrations. The visit will conclude with the farewell ceremony at Tenerife North Airport.
