The rector of the University of La Laguna, Francisco Javier García Rodríguez, and the vice-rector Isabel León, received Ángel Adán and Beatriz García, representatives of the Amaro Pargo House Recovery Initiative, along with professor José Luis Saorín. The meeting aimed to understand the work for the conservation and dissemination of the three Sites of Cultural Interest (BIC) in Machado, within the municipality of El Rosario.
A 360° virtual tour of the three BIC sites in Machado was presented. This altruistic project allows virtual visits to the Amaro Pargo House, the Hermitage of Our Lady of the Rosary and San Amaro, and the historic Camino Viejo de Candelaria, bringing this heritage closer to the public through digital tools and is available at [3bicmachado.revingarq.com](https://3bicmachado.revingarq.com/).
During the meeting, materials were showcased, including two scale models of the Amaro Pargo House based on sketches by Bernardo Parrilla, a bust of Amaro Pargo created using 3D modeling and printing techniques in collaboration with the University of La Laguna, and the Official Passport of the Camino Viejo de Candelaria.
Professor José Luis Saorín, from the Department of Engineering and Architecture Techniques and Projects, explained the academic center's participation in the technical development of the virtual tour and the application of digitization and manufacturing technologies to the study and dissemination of cultural heritage, including the publication of an article in an international journal.
This encounter highlights the value of collaboration between the university and society in promoting projects that combine research, technological innovation, and commitment to the conservation and dissemination of Canarias' historical heritage.
