Canarian artist Valeria Castro will give her final concert in the Canary Islands on July 26th at Gran Canaria Arena, marking a temporary pause in her career to focus on songwriting.

Renowned artist Valeria Castro, originally from Los Llanos de Aridane in La Palma, is preparing for her last concert in the Canary Islands of the current tour. The event will take place on July 26th at the Gran Canaria Arena, where she will present her new album, ‘El cuerpo, después de todo’. Following this performance, the singer will take a well-deserved break to dedicate herself to composing without pressure.
With her new album, Castro aims to explore the connection between life experiences and the marks they leave on individuals, giving “dignity” to all emotions. The 27-year-old artist confesses that the album is an intimate reflection of her life and that music allows her to discover a sense of collectivity in personal experiences, feeling that neither she nor her listeners are alone in their feelings.

"Finding that collectivity in songs that speak of something so personal is one of the most beautiful processes I have ever experienced"

Valeria Castro · Singer
Canarian identity is a fundamental pillar of her artistic project. Castro seeks to “make roots flourish”, uniting genres and generations, as she demonstrated in her collaboration with Los Sabandeños in Tenerife. Her connection to her origins was profoundly marked by the volcanic eruption on La Palma, an event that changed her “completely” and reinforced her commitment to being “very connected to the human”.
The concert at the Gran Canaria Arena will not be just another date, but the last performance on the islands before a hiatus that will extend through 2026 and 2027. Castro describes the event as a “very beautiful opportunity to accompany each other” and a “quite emotional” and “historic” moment in her life, highlighting the warmth and humanity she feels when performing at home.
The artist has learned to “protect her intuition more and more”, considering it key to her maturity. She defines music as a language between spoken words and thoughts, an “escape route” to release the unconscious. She invites the public to join this collective experience to “give words, emotion, and time to human feelings and emotions”.
