A prominent Swedish driver, with a family legacy in motorsport, is preparing to be the center of attention at the Rally Islas Canarias, aiming for a crucial victory for his season.

Anticipation is building around the participation of a young motorsport prodigy in the new edition of the Rally Islas Canarias. This 24-year-old driver, son of a 2003 World Rally Car champion, continues his ascent in the World Rally Championship, establishing himself as one of today's brightest talents. With his Toyota GR Yaris WRC, he will seek a victory in Gran Canaria to stay in contention for the championship title at the end of the season.
This athlete's passion for motorsport not only comes from his father, but his mother was also a renowned former rally driver and an influential figure in global motorsport, named president of the World Rally Commission in 2024. From a very young age, speed and adrenaline have been part of his life, starting in rallycross and debuting in rallies at fifteen in Latvia, even before having a license to drive on conventional roads.
His career includes a victory at the Rally Liepāja with a Volkswagen Polo GTI Rally 2, surpassing experienced drivers. In 2019, he made his debut in the World Rally Championship at the Rally Great Britain, coinciding with his father's last participation. Last year, he claimed the WRC2 title with the Toyota GR Yaris Rally2, earning him a seat in the top category of the World Rally Car with the Japanese team.
This driver replaced another driving prodigy at the beginning of the current season, who is the reigning Rally Islas Canarias champion and will not be able to defend his title after venturing into Formula 1. Now, the Swedish driver will seek to prove his worth in the Toyota team, aiming for victory in the second edition of the World Rally Car in Gran Canaria.
His connection with Gran Canaria dates back to 2020, when at 19, he achieved a commendable fourth place in the Rally Islas Canarias. He returned to the island last year, finishing 16th. For this edition, the Swedish driver hopes to extend his good form in the WRC, where he currently holds third position. Furthermore, he will have the support of his father, who will participate as a guest driver in the 'BP Ultimate – Las Palmas de Gran Canaria' section and offer advice.
