This initiative, promoted by the Agulo City Council and part of the Dinamiza Rural strategy by the Government of the Canary Islands, aims to boost the primary sector, local gastronomy, craftsmanship, and the ethnographic heritage of La Gomera. The event will take place at Plaza El Mantillo.
The program will commence at 10:30 AM with 'Saberes del territorio' (Territory Know-how), featuring an exhibition of Silbo Gomero, Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, alongside a traditional basket weaving demonstration by the Silbo Gomero Cultural Association and artisan María C. Luis.
Starting at 11:00 AM, a participatory workshop on traditional almogrote preparation will be held, followed at 11:30 AM by the traditional pottery exhibition 'Los saberes del barro: del oficio al patrimonio' (The knowledge of clay: from craft to heritage).
The day continues at 12:15 PM with 'Sabores con memoria' (Flavors with memory), a workshop on artisanal gomera cookie making, and at 1:00 PM, 'Forastera gomera: el sabor de la viticultura heroica' (Gomera outsider: the taste of heroic viticulture) will be presented, an experience linked to DOP wines from La Gomera with the participation of Bodega Piedra Gorda.
In the afternoon, at 4:00 PM, the workshop 'Sabores de guarapo y millo' (Flavors of guarapo and millo) will focus on gofio and palm honey. At 4:30 PM, music by Los Satélites will accompany the event with local product tastings.
The day will conclude at 5:30 PM with 'Sabores con identidad' (Flavors with identity), a tasting of Layla Craft Beer paired with gomera cheeses, highlighting the island's agri-food productions.
The event will feature direct participation from local producers, artisans, and manufacturers, aiming to foster economic returns and the transmission of knowledge related to La Gomera's cultural and gastronomic heritage, promoting sustainable experiences and the rural economy.
