The Cabildo de La Gomera will host this Friday, April 10, the presentation of the book Jerónimo Saavedra, el último prócer, a biography exploring the career of the figure considered the father of Canarian autonomy.

The work, penned by journalist Marta Saavedra, will be presented at 7:00 PM in the Plenary Hall of the island institution. This event will offer an opportunity to delve into the life and legacy of Jerónimo Saavedra, a key figure in the development of Canarias' self-governance.
During the event, the author will share details about the book's creation process, which draws from conversations and testimonies of prominent political and cultural figures. Alongside her, the president of the Cabildo de La Gomera, Casimiro Curbelo, who also contributed his testimony to the publication, will participate.
Published by La Catarata, the volume includes a prologue by the president of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, and features illustrations by María Luisa Hodgson. Its pages compile reflections and memories from notable figures such as Felipe González, Alfonso Guerra, Javier Solana, and Carolina Darias, among other protagonists of recent political history in Spain and the Canarian archipelago.
