The DĀD Unit – Choreographic Center of La Gomera organizes free contemporary dance workshops for youth and adults, led by resident artists, fostering creativity and body awareness.

These workshops, known as Saturday Contemporary Dance, are a training initiative aimed at young people and adults. The sessions are taught by artists currently in residence at the DĀD Unit – Choreographic Center of La Gomera, providing an accessible and dynamic space to explore movement arts.
Participants have the opportunity to delve into the world of dance, develop their creativity, train body awareness, and experience professional artistic practice firsthand. Starting in 2026, classes will be held on Saturdays from 11:00 to 12:30, a schedule designed to facilitate attendance from other municipalities and even other islands.
The program for each session adapts to the availability of the resident artists and their duration at the Choreographic Center, always ensuring intensive and high-quality experiences. This coming Saturday, April 11, the workshop will be led by resident artists Ainhoa Aparicio and Elena Carcedo.
For those wishing to attend from outside La Gomera, transportation options have been arranged. From Tenerife, the first morning ferry (09:00 or 09:30) can be taken, with return options at 13:00 or 14:00. From Gran Canaria, an early flight (approximately 08:00) arrives in La Gomera at 10:00, with a return flight at 17:20.
These sessions represent a unique opportunity to learn, experiment, and connect with active artists, enjoying contemporary dance in a close, professional, and enriching context. The activity is free and does not require prior reservation.
