The Cabildo de La Gomera has announced the reopening to traffic of the El Rejo road, the CV-14, connecting the GM-1 with the GM-2, starting this Friday. Circulation will be permitted under preventive measures to ensure driver safety while rehabilitation and stabilization work continues on the slopes affected by landslides after storm Therese.

Among the established restrictions are a maximum speed limit of 40 kilometers per hour and a prohibition on driving during rain episodes. Signage will be reinforced at both access points to warn of ongoing works, the risk of landslides, and applicable restrictions during adverse weather conditions.

The island institution reminds that these actions are part of emergency works to restore the stability and safety of the road, damaged by adverse weather phenomena.

During the execution of the works, occasional lane closures may occur for cleaning or material loading tasks. Traffic will be regulated by signalers, traffic lights, or necessary control systems, with protective measures such as separation barriers.

The Cabildo urges users to exercise extreme caution, always respect provisional signage, and follow the instructions of the construction personnel. The reopening aims to balance the progress of the works with the recovery of connectivity on this strategic road.
