The public company GuaguaGomera has launched a micro-story contest inviting citizens to create short stories linked to the island of La Gomera and the use of public transport.

The competition is structured into two categories: a general one for individuals over 18 years old, and a school category aimed at students of Compulsory Secondary Education and Baccalaureate from educational centers in La Gomera. The main objective is to stimulate creativity among the young population and strengthen their connection with the island's territory.
Participants must write micro-stories of a maximum of 200 words, explicitly integrating a recognizable place in La Gomera and a reference to the “guagua” (bus) within the narrative. Both elements must be a fundamental part of the story's development.
In the general category, a single prize of 450 euros will be awarded. For the school category, three prizes consisting of bookstore and stationery material vouchers, valued at 300, 200, and 100 euros respectively, will be granted. Additionally, the involvement of teachers from participating educational centers will be recognized.
The complete rules and the submission form for entries are available on the GuaguaGomera website. The deadline for submitting works runs from April 7 to April 17 at 11:59 PM. The jury's decision will be announced through the entity's official channels.
The awards ceremony will take place on April 23, coinciding with Book Day, at the San Sebastián Bus Station. This event will serve to recognize the winners and highlight the importance of participation in this cultural proposal that seeks to strengthen the relationship between public transport and the island's heritage.
