This update is part of the plan's annual and revisable nature, which allows for adjusting aid lines to the needs and budgetary availability of each year. In this way, the island institution reinforces its commitment to effective, transparent management oriented towards the general interest of La Gomera.
“"This review allows us to continue expanding the scope of public policies supporting strategic groups and sectors on the island, enabling more entities to carry out their activities and provide services to citizens."
The total economic allocations included in this update exceed 11.4 million euros, covering nominative grants, competitive bidding lines, and agreements with social, cultural, sports, and economic entities.
It has been detailed that 31% of the resources, over 3.5 million euros, will be allocated to social policies. Support for the commercial fabric and economic revitalization will receive 23% of the resources, totaling 2.6 million euros. Additionally, 1.1 million euros are allocated for education, culture, and sports, as well as other resources for entities and groups in the primary sector and the environment. 3.4 million euros are maintained for agreements with administrations, universities, and other public entities.
The plan serves as a roadmap for granting public aid, fostering activities of social, economic, and cultural interest, and contributing to the comprehensive development of the island. The 2026 update not only adjusts existing amounts but also opens the plan to new entities operating in key areas such as social welfare, culture, sports, the primary sector, sustainability, and economic revitalization.
“"We maintain the principles of budgetary balance, efficiency, and transparency, ensuring that grants continue to be an essential instrument of collaboration between public administration and Gomera society."
