This exhibition, presented as an essential documentary testimony, aims to bring the role of the Spanish Armed Forces abroad closer to the public during the mission carried out between 2025 and 2026. Unlike other displays, this gallery delves into the human dimension of the soldiers, reflecting their daily life away from home and under the commitment of an international peace operation.
The inauguration was attended by various authorities, including the head of the Fifth General Sub-inspection of the Army in the Canary Islands and the president of the Cabildo. They were accompanied by the head of the Center for Military History and Culture of the Almeyda Museum and the head of the ‘Cristóbal Colón’ Projection Support Unit.
Through a carefully designed itinerary, the public can get closer to the landscapes, faces, and most significant moments that mark the daily pulse of Spanish troops in Lebanese territory. The exhibition is organized into six thematic blocks that allow visitors to explore different aspects of the work on the ground, from the harshness of the landscape to direct contact with the local population.
With this initiative, the Canary Islands Military Historical Museum aims to make visible work that often remains out of public sight but is vital for global security. The exhibition can be visited from Monday to Friday, in the morning from 08:00 to 15:00 and in the afternoon from 17:00 to 19:00, with free admission.
