The program aims to promote active aging and facilitate access to experiences related to culture, leisure, and community life among the island's residents.
Cabildo President Casimiro Curbelo highlighted the continuity of this initiative, allowing seniors to enjoy new experiences, discover places, and share spaces for learning. He noted that the high annual participation confirms the interest and contributes to overall well-being.
“"The response each year confirms the interest in an initiative that contributes to well-being and active aging, while also creating opportunities for social interaction and enjoying new experiences."
Social Policies Councilor Rosa Elena García detailed that the itineraries are adapted to the groups' needs, combining historical and cultural visits with leisure spaces. Necessary support is provided during travel to ensure participant safety and comfort.
This second phase, set to take place over the coming months, continues the spring departures. The travel planning focuses on dates with suitable temperatures and periods of lower tourist influx to ensure a more tranquil experience at the destinations.
