The Plaza de Las Américas in San Sebastián de La Gomera will host the Island Craft Fair from November 6th to 8th, an event bringing together nearly 70 stands to promote traditional Canarian trades.
The Cabildo of La Gomera has announced the upcoming edition of the Island Craft Fair. The event, scheduled from November 6th to 8th at the Plaza de Las Américas in San Sebastián, is the island's largest artisanal gathering, featuring nearly 70 stands. Of these, 54 will be dedicated to artisans from La Gomera, La Palma, Tenerife, and Gran Canaria, aiming to showcase traditional trades and the archipelago's artisanal creations.
For three days, the island's capital will become a meeting point for sector professionals, residents, and visitors. Attendees can get a close look at the artisans' work and the value of their creations, in a space designed for product promotion and sales, thereby increasing the visibility of Canarian cultural heritage.
“
"This event represents an opportunity to recognize the work of those who keep our trades alive and make craftsmanship an expression of our identity. Supporting the artisanal sector also means supporting the local economy and creating opportunities for these skills to be passed on to new generations."
Cabildo President Casimiro Curbelo highlighted the participation of professionals from four islands, noting that the fair allows for sharing experiences and showcasing the richness of Canarian craftsmanship, with La Gomera as the host.
“
"We are working to make this fair a useful space for artisans, where they can showcase their pieces, establish direct contact with the public, and expand their sales opportunities. The presence of 54 artisans will allow us to bring together different ways of working and creating, with the added value that each handmade piece brings."
Island Councilor for Handicrafts, Cristina Ventura, encouraged residents and visitors to attend the Plaza de Las Américas to discover the stories and dedication behind each artisanal creation, thereby supporting local craftsmanship.
