The agreement, signed in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, includes the development of a residential prototype through a design competition coordinated by the Canary Islands Economic and Social Council (CEICA). Proposals must be submitted by next November 15th.
The agreement involves the transfer of a municipal plot of 565.32 square meters without a fee. The planned buildable area is 1,582.89 square meters, which may vary depending on incentives for affordable housing. Each of the 19 homes will include a parking space and a storage room.
The homes, with built areas ranging from 60 to 120 square meters, will be designated for incentivized affordable rental for individuals aged 18 to 35. The project must meet requirements for accessibility, energy efficiency, sustainability, and construction quality.
Industrialized construction solutions will be valued, including hybrid systems and components manufactured in the Canary Islands. The execution of the works is scheduled between March 20, 2027, and January 20, 2028, with an estimated material execution budget of 2.53 million euros.
