The El Paso City Council will host the fifth edition of the Tara Awards 'Women Who Pave the Way' this Thursday, April 9, an event aimed at highlighting and acknowledging the work of women who have driven the municipality's development.

The ceremony will take place at 8:00 PM at the Braulio Martín Hernández Cultural Center. Initially scheduled for last March, the gala had to be postponed due to adverse weather conditions caused by storm Therese.
The mayor of El Paso, Eloy Martín, and the Councilor for Equality, Amanda Díaz, have extended an invitation to the public to attend this significant event. Both emphasized the importance of continuing to highlight and honor women who, through their effort and dedication, have contributed to the progress of the locality.

"To continue making visible and recognizing women who have contributed, with their effort and dedication, to the progress of the municipality."

Organized in collaboration with Vilaví Eventos, the Tara Awards annually recognize the trajectory and role of female role models in various fields, such as social, cultural, educational, sports, or business. These awards value their commitment to equality and their deep love for their community.
In this fifth edition, two posthumous awards will be presented, paying special tribute to legacies that remain very present and constitute an essential part of the municipality's history. The opening of the gala will feature the participation of students from IES El Paso, through the Equality project Between Volcanoes and Pine Forests, a podcast promoted by the educational center and the City Council that has been very well received.
This event has become a fundamental space for recognizing 'Women who pave the way' in society, whose footprints are proudly followed by El Paso.
