This decision is based on information from the State Meteorological Agency and other available sources, applying the Specific Emergency Plan of the Canary Islands for Adverse Weather Phenomena Risks (PEFMA).
In La Palma, the municipality of El Paso will be affected, with temperatures potentially reaching 34ºC. In Fuerteventura, the interior of the southern half and the southeast coast will experience highs that could exceed 36ºC, with large areas above 34ºC.
Tenerife, in the southern and western highlands and midlands, as well as the metropolitan area and the Güímar valley, will remain on pre-alert, with general temperatures of 33ºC and peaks of 34ºC. On Sunday, up to 37ºC are expected in the Güímar valley.
Gran Canaria anticipates temperatures that will reach and exceed 34ºC in large areas of the Tejeda basin and the southern and western midlands and low-lying areas, where local highs could reach 37ºC.
Elevated nighttime temperatures are also predicted, barely dropping below 26ºC, which will make rest and thermal recovery difficult.
