Canarias en prealerta por riesgo de inundaciones ante la borrasca Bruna

Gobierno de Canarias · 2026-11-06

The Government of the Canary Islands has declared a pre-alert situation for the risk of pluvial and fluvial floods throughout the archipelago, starting tomorrow, Saturday, November 7, at 9:00 PM, due to the arrival of Storm Bruna.

This decision has been made in application of the Special Plan for Civil Protection and Emergency Response for Flood Risk of the autonomous community of the Canary Islands (PEINCA), based on information from the State Meteorological Agency and other available sources.
Moderate to strong, and even very strong and persistent, rainfall is expected in the form of intense showers that could affect any part of the autonomous community. There is a risk of localized urban flooding and sudden growth of ravines and small watercourses.
Furthermore, the predicted rough seas, associated with a high tide coefficient (between 71 and 84 from Sunday to Tuesday), will generate a risk of coastal flooding on the island of La Palma and on the coasts facing north and west of the remaining islands, especially due to wave overtopping onto bathing areas, promenades, and roads near the coastline, particularly 2-3 hours before and after high tide.
