The Fuencaliente de La Palma City Council has launched the project 'The Legacy of Our Municipality,' an initiative to collect and disseminate old photographs contributed by residents.

This proposal seeks to build a documentary collection that allows understanding the evolution of Fuencaliente through its inhabitants, traditions, and landscapes. The Councilor for Culture, Laura Pérez, explained that the goal is to gather the largest possible number of historical images of the municipality.
To facilitate citizen participation, photographs will be digitized directly in residents' homes. Abián San Gil, the municipal photographer, will be responsible for this process, ensuring that the images do not leave their owners' residences.
Those interested in collaborating should first contact the phone number 617 22 07 06. During digitization, essential data such as the identification of people, places, and approximate dates will be collected. All material will be classified by era and category, and will be available on a public website.

"This project is a unique opportunity to recover the living memory of our municipality. Each photograph holds a story, and we want all of them to be part of a common legacy that endures for future generations."

Gregorio Alonso · Mayor of Fuencaliente
In addition to collecting images, a neighborhood gathering will be held throughout the year to encourage collective participation and expand the information associated with the photographs. With this initiative, the Fuencaliente City Council reaffirms its commitment to the preservation of local heritage and calls on all citizens to help build the visual legacy of the municipality.
