La Palma's audiovisual sector is gearing up for a pivotal meeting on May 29 at the Plaza de Las Tricias in Garafía, aiming to transform the island from a mere setting into a protagonist of its own cinema.

The initiative, named Cine y Territorio (Cinema and Territory), seeks to create a space for dialogue and collaboration among professionals, creators, and agents within the audiovisual field. The central purpose is to redefine the island's role in the industry, prioritizing indigenous production, the expression of local identity, and the establishment of a solid structure from within.
Cine y Territorio is an original proposal by Alter ConscienS Colectivo de Artes Escénicas, a cultural entity based in La Palma. This collective boasts over fifteen years of experience in developing artistic projects, training, and creative support, with a particular focus on rural environments.

"It's not just a meeting; it's a starting point. La Palma has vision, it has talent, and this is the moment to start building from there."

Begoña Grande · Project Director

"We want this to serve as a way to connect, to listen to each other, and for things to start happening."

The call is open to all individuals involved in the audiovisual sector, including direction, acting, screenwriting, production, technical roles, or training, who wish to participate in this space for exchange and collective construction. The event is sponsored by Sodepal and collaborates with the Cabildo de La Palma and the Ayuntamiento de la Villa de Garafía.
