The Cabildo de La Palma and CEIP El Roque have joined forces to install pictograms in public transport and taxis on the island, enhancing information accessibility for people with disabilities.

This initiative, promoted by CEIP El Roque in collaboration with various institutions, aims to improve the understanding and use of bus and taxi services for all citizens. The island's Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Darwin Rodríguez, met with the educational center's board to coordinate the implementation of these visual elements.

"We have already placed pictograms in several public buildings of the Cabildo, together with the Department of Social Action led by Ángeles Fernández, and the next step will be to place these elements in transport and stops."

Rodríguez emphasized the commitment of the Cabildo de La Palma's government team to social welfare, highlighting the importance of ensuring equitable access to mobility-related information. This measure aligns with a cross-cutting objective to promote inclusion across all areas of the island institution.
The pictograms will be installed both inside buses and taxis and at their respective stops. In stops lacking physical infrastructure, the visual signage will be placed directly on existing signs, ensuring that information is accessible at all key service points.
