The Directorate General of Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands has activated the pre-alert due to the forecast of rain in the north and east of the island of La Palma. The measure comes into effect from 08:30 AM today, Thursday, October 1st.
This decision is based on information provided by the State Meteorological Agency and other available sources, within the framework of the Specific Emergency Plan of the Canary Islands for Risks of Adverse Meteorological Phenomena (PEFMA).
Moderate to intense rainfall is expected, with accumulations of up to 80 millimeters in 12 hours, which could particularly affect the midlands of the north and east of the island.
