A 68-year-old woman was rescued this Saturday after suffering a fall in the Caldera de Taburiente National Park, in the municipality of El Paso, and was transferred to the General Hospital of La Palma.

The incident occurred on July 11, 2026, at 2:24 PM, in the Fuente La Mula area. The Canary Islands Government's 1 1 2 Coordination Center for Emergencies and Security (CECOES) received an alert reporting that a hiker had fallen and required medical assistance.
The 1 1 2 immediately activated the necessary emergency resources. Rescuers from a helicopter of the Canary Islands Government's Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) reached the affected individual. After providing initial care, they proceeded with the rescue to evacuate her to the helipad of the General Hospital of La Palma.
Once on the ground, the woman, who presented moderate trauma, was attended by personnel from a Canary Islands Emergency Medical Service (SUC) basic life support ambulance and transferred to the aforementioned hospital.
