The Advisory Committee of the Canary Islands Volcanic Emergency Plan (Peinpal) has given the green light for residents to return to two new homes located on Avenida Marítima and Maximiliano D. Montesinos street, both within the so-called 'black zone' of Puerto Naos.
This measure adds to previous authorizations, bringing the total number of residences in Puerto Naos and La Bombilla with return permits to 1,230. Of these, 158 homes have not yet signed the mandatory document required for access.
Specifically, 1,172 houses in Puerto Naos and 58 in La Bombilla have received approval for their inhabitants to return, along with approximately forty commercial premises and 36 garages.
The island's government team continues to work on the gradual restoration of normality along the coast of the Aridane Valley. This effort is supported by constant monitoring of gas levels through over a thousand sensors installed in homes, businesses, garages, and outdoor areas, thereby ensuring the safety of residents and visitors.
The importance of collaboration between administrations and professionals who conduct the control and monitoring of data from the sensors, as well as providing support to residents and business owners in the area, is emphasized.
The government team, led by Sergio Rodríguez, reaffirms that the areas of Puerto Naos and La Bombilla are safe, both in outdoor spaces and open establishments, as they have the necessary authorizations and safety protocols in place.
