The Directorate of the Health Area of La Palma, under the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands, has issued a warning following the detection of phone calls targeting food establishments on the island. In these communications, individuals falsely identify themselves as Public Health Inspector Technicians (TISP) with the aim of gathering information about the businesses.
The Directorate of the Health Area of La Palma categorically denies that its inspection staff are making these types of calls to communicate closures or make such requests. Therefore, these communications are considered fraudulent and unrelated to the Canary Islands Health Service (SCS).
In light of this situation, establishments are advised that, should they receive calls of this nature, they should not provide any personal or administrative information. It is also recommended to report these incidents to the competent authorities so that appropriate measures can be taken.
