The event's organization announced the cancellation just hours before its start, citing the prevailing strong winds as the primary reason. The measure was taken to ensure the safety of attendees, artists, and technical staff.
In the coming days, details will be provided on the process for refunding money spent on tickets and for the use of buses. The official statement deeply regrets any inconvenience and thanks everyone for their understanding.
The main lineup was expected to feature artists such as The Molotovs, Sanguijuelas del Guadiana, Ángel Stanich, Nortec: Bostich + Fussible, Go Cactus, La 126, DJ Dara Ortega, and Good Franco. Due to force majeure, Ginebras had to be replaced by Rufus T. Firefly, who previously made a positive impression in 2025.
In the days leading up to the main event, Sonidos Líquidos had organized cultural activities across various island locations. On Thursday, June 4th, the Sala Buñuel at CIC El Almacén hosted a screening of 'Taxi Driver' with a live soundtrack by Zabala, perfectly complementing the Lanzarote International Film Festival. Friday, June 5th, included wristband distribution, a DJ set, and a concert by Ángela González.
The festival is organized by Arenao Producciones and sponsored by the Cabildo, Turismo de Islas Canarias, and SPEL -Turismo Lanzarote under the brand Lanzarote Music Festivals. Collaborators include Centros de Arte, Cultura y Turismo, the Yaiza City Council, the Regulatory Council of the D.O. Vinos de Lanzarote, and Lava Live Fest, along with several private sponsors and funding from the European Union (EU) through Next Generation funds.
Additionally, a special event is planned for La Graciosa on June 28th, in collaboration with the Líneas Romero Foundation and the UNESCO Global Geopark of Lanzarote and the Chinijo Archipelago. This event will coincide with European Geoparks Week and will feature a special catamaran trip culminating in a performance by the band Los Blody in Caleta del Sebo.
