The event will feature participation from folklore groups from Taiwan, Ivory Coast, Greece, Armenia, Bulgaria, Puerto Rico, Spain, and the Canary Islands. The colorful procession will start from the La Cantonera area and conclude in the Plaza de la Candelaria, in front of the town hall.
Attendees can enjoy performances by the Husher Dance Ensemble from Armenia, the Mien Moh artistic company from Ivory Coast, the Alonaki Greek Tradition Cultural Association from Greece, the Gíbaro group from Puerto Rico, the Kuo-Shin Chuang Pangcah Dance Theater from Taiwan, the Razvitie formation from Bulgaria, as well as the Spanish groups Coros y Danzas de Ronda and Coros y Danzas de Ingenio. The Band of the Villa de Ingenio Musical Society and local folklore groups such as Guayadeque de Carrizal, Las Mahoreras, Amigos del Carrizal 7 Islas, and Tacoremi will complete the lineup.
The parade, noted for the uniqueness of its dances and the vibrancy of its costumes, will be repeated on Thursday, July 23rd, in Carrizal, starting at 8:30 PM from El Toril and concluding in the Plaza del Buen Suceso.
Cultural diversity will be showcased through Armenian dances like Yarkhushta, Bulgarian polyphonic singing, Ivorian percussion, Greek traditional dances such as sirtaki, Puerto Rican bomba and plena, Taiwanese aboriginal dances, and Spanish and Canarian rhythms. This event, promoted by the Coros y Danzas Cultural Association of Ingenio with the collaboration of the town council and sponsorship from the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, is a cultural benchmark in the Mid-Atlantic.
The mayor of Ingenio, Vanesa Martín, highlighted that the event, declared a Festival of Tourist Interest of the Canary Islands, "transforms the municipality into a meeting space where music, dance, and traditions bring us closer to different world cultures to celebrate the richness of their cultural diversity".
