A house fire in Tías, Lanzarote, on Monday night, mobilized emergency services after originating in the kitchen and filling the property with smoke.

The incident, reported to the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (Cecoes) at 9:29 PM, occurred in a building on Libertad Street. An immediate joint operation involving firefighters, Local Police, and Civil Guard was deployed to control the situation and prevent further damage.
Personnel from the Central Park of the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium responded, working closely with officers from the Tías Local Police and the Civil Guard. Their coordination was crucial, as police forces helped pinpoint the exact location of the fire. Additionally, the Local Police proactively disconnected the home's electricity supply, reducing the risk of spread.
Upon entering, teams confirmed that the fire had started in the kitchen, specifically in the cabinet area where the microwave was located. The flames spread to nearby furniture, generating a significant accumulation of smoke that affected the entire dwelling.
According to emergency services, the fire partially self-extinguished due to a lack of oxygen, as the house remained closed at the time of the incident. This circumstance limited the spread of the flames. Nevertheless, firefighters completed the extinguishment using a foam extinguisher to ensure the complete elimination of any active hotspots.
