The town of Mancha Blanca will host the 37th Lanzarote Insular Craft Fair, scheduled from September 10-15. The event will gather more than 140 participants, including industry professionals, international guests, and experts for demonstrations and workshops.
Out of 192 applicants, 108 professionals have been selected to showcase their work. The 2026 fair will be dedicated to hats and bonnets made from plant fibers from Lanzarote and La Graciosa, highlighting a traditional island craft.
Uruguay will be the guest country for this edition, with approximately half a dozen professionals traveling from the South American nation. This presence aims to foster a dialogue between different artisanal traditions.
“"It will allow us to learn about other ways of working and establish a dialogue between different artisanal traditions"
The program includes the initiative 'The Heritage in the Hands', created in 2024 to highlight veteran artisans from the seven municipalities. Around ten specialists will conduct live demonstrations of traditional crafts and share their knowledge.
