The Cabildo of Lanzarote honored four women lacemakers from the municipality of Haría this Wednesday, recognizing their contribution to traditional craftsmanship as part of the XV Cultural Week.

The Minister of Crafts, Aroa Revelo, along with the Minister of Social Welfare, Marci Acuña, attended the inauguration of the exhibition at the El Aljibe hall in Haría. The event recognized the careers of Margarita Zerpa, Teodomira Socas, Ana Margarita Betancor, and María del Carmen Betancor, who have been instrumental in keeping one of Lanzarote's most representative artisanal crafts alive.
Revelo thanked the Association of Friends of Wine and Cheese of Lanzarote for supporting and preserving the cultural heritage of the northern municipality. The minister added that the Crafts Department works to give visibility to those who maintain these skills and to ensure that new generations can learn the techniques and history behind each artisanal work.
The exhibition, which can be visited until November 8, features photographs, lacework pieces, and materials related to this activity, offering a journey through the techniques and characteristic elements of its production.
This edition includes the participation of the Association of Friends of Wine and Cheese of Lanzarote and the collaboration of various entities and institutions, including the Cabildo of Lanzarote and La Graciosa and the Haría City Council.
