The island of Lanzarote is gearing up to welcome over 1,400 triathletes for the 34th edition of the Club La Santa IRONMAN Lanzarote 2026, one of Europe's most iconic long-distance triathlons, scheduled for May 23.

The event, starting and finishing in Puerto del Carmen (municipality of Tías), is an international benchmark in the IRONMAN circuit. Participants will face a demanding course comprising 3.8 kilometers of swimming, 180.2 kilometers of cycling, and 42.2 kilometers of running.
The race is not only significant for its sporting aspect but also for its strong social, economic, and tourist impact, solidifying Lanzarote's reputation as a premier destination for endurance sports. The massive participation of over 1,400 triathletes underscores the event's scale and international reach.

"The IRONMAN is part of our history, and many of us have childhood memories linked to it. Together, we have contributed to this event growing and being recognized worldwide."

The official presentation was attended by various authorities, who highlighted institutional support and the work of the Island Sports Service. The opening of the Champions' Promenade, a space dedicated to honoring athletes who have left their mark on the competition, was particularly noted. This project has received significant impetus thanks to Next Generation EU Funds.
The organization of IRONMAN Lanzarote is managed by Club La Santa, with the backing of the Government of the Canary Islands, the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Promotur Turismo de Canarias, the Tías City Council, and Lanzarote Sports Destination. The safety and smooth running of the race are ensured through the collaboration of the Guardia Civil, local police forces, sponsors, and thousands of volunteers.
