A student from Lanzarote, Gabriel Navarro Oliveros, has been selected as a finalist in the prestigious XIV High Cuisine Promises Award by Le Cordon Bleu Madrid, competing for a training scholarship.

The grand final of the XIV High Cuisine Promises Award by Le Cordon Bleu Madrid will take place tomorrow, bringing together ten young culinary talents from various Spanish provinces. Among them is Gabriel Navarro Oliveros, representing CIFP Zonzamas from Lanzarote, who will vie for one of the coveted study scholarships.
The finalists, from ten training centers, will compete in an intense four-hour live challenge. During this time, they must demonstrate their skill and creativity by preparing an original dish based on a common theme: «Chicken and Lobster». They will have the freedom to incorporate techniques, garnishes, and ingredients that highlight their culinary vision.
The jury will be chaired by the renowned Madrid-based chef Paco Roncero, awarded two Michelin stars. He will be joined in the evaluation by Jerez-based chef Rafael de Bedoya, also with two Michelin stars at the restaurant Aleia and winner of the fourth edition of the competition, and Adrián Delgado, Gastronomy Director at SpainMedia. The team of chef instructors from Le Cordon Bleu Madrid will complete the panel of experts.
This national award is aimed at students under 25 who are in their final year of culinary training. Its objective is to promote new generations of chefs, offering them the opportunity to continue their education at Le Cordon Bleu Madrid. The top two classified will receive scholarships valued at €24,000 and €9,000 respectively, and the first-place winner's school will be awarded €1,500.
