After several days of intense haze and high temperatures, which reached 30 degrees Celsius in some areas, the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) predicts a change in weather for the Canary Islands, with cloudy intervals and rain arriving from Tuesday.

For Monday, Aemet highlights the persistence of haze in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, as well as very strong wind gusts in the high areas of the mountainous islands. Temperatures will experience a slight to moderate decrease, notably in the maximums of low-lying areas. The wind will blow from the west, with strong intervals in the southeast and northwest extremes, and in the summits, with probable very strong gusts in Las Cañadas del Teide during the early morning.
Regarding temperatures, minimums of 17 degrees Celsius and maximums of 22 degrees Celsius are expected in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and 17 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius in Santa Cruz de Tenerife for Monday.
Tuesday presents no significant phenomena, although occasional light rains are expected, more likely in the late hours of the day. Cloudy intervals will prevail, with cloudier skies in the interior and east of the mountainous islands in the afternoon. Temperatures will remain unchanged or with a slight decrease, especially in the maximums of the eastern islands and Tenerife. The wind will be light to moderate from the northwest, shifting to north in the afternoon.
For Wednesday, cloudy skies are expected in the north of the mountainous islands, with occasional light rains. In the rest of the archipelago, the sky will be partly cloudy, tending to cloudy intervals in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura in the afternoon, and cloudy in the south of the mountainous islands, where some isolated showers may occur. Temperatures will remain stable or with a slight decrease. The wind will be light from the north, shifting to southwest in mid-altitudes and high areas.
Finally, Thursday will be characterized by cloudy intervals in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, with a low probability of light rains. In the north of the mountainous islands, the sky will be cloudy with occasional light rains, while in the rest it will be partly cloudy, becoming cloudy in the south in the afternoon, with some isolated showers. Maximum temperatures will experience little change or a slight decrease. The wind will blow lightly from the north, shifting to southwest in mid-altitudes and high areas.
