Communicator Sara Carbonero has reappeared in Lanzarote, the island that hosted her during her recent hospital stay, to support one of her sons in the San Bartolomé Cup.

Following a difficult personal period marked by the passing of her mother and her recent hospitalization at the Hospital Universitario Doctor José Molina Orosa, Sara Carbonero has returned to the island of volcanoes. Her comeback coincides with her son's participation in the youth football tournament San Bartolomé Cup 2026.
The journalist shared an emotional message on her social media, "Lanzarote 2026. #Volver", highlighting the symbolic significance of her return. Her presence on the football pitch takes place amidst the Lanzarote International Cup 2026, a major sporting event that will bring together over 120 youth football teams from various countries.
The sons of Carbonero and Íker Casillas, Martín and Lucas, have competed in previous editions of this tournament, where they play as goalkeepers. Their team, Real Madrid CF, won the Gold Phase of the tournament held in San Bartolomé.
During her stay, Carbonero also took the opportunity to enjoy the island, visiting places like La Geria and the Stratvs winery, sharing her experiences on social media.
Her current visit contrasts with that of January, when the communicator underwent surgery and remained hospitalized for eleven days at the Hospital Universitario Doctor José Molina Orosa in Arrecife. After being discharged, she began a recovery period in Madrid.
The Lanzarote International Cup 2026, scheduled from June 17 to 21, expects over 120 teams and 10,000 visitors, generating a significant economic impact for the island. The tournament will feature top national and international youth academies, including Real Madrid CF, FC Barcelona, Manchester City FC, and Juventus FC, among others.
The event's organization has emphasized sustainability and inclusion initiatives, such as collaboration with Asociación Arrecife Natura and the Servicios de Asistencia Sin Barreras program, in addition to institutional support from the Government of the Canary Islands and the Cabildo de Lanzarote.
